1960 Gibson Southern Jumbo SJ Sunburst

Excellent condition 1960 Gibson Southern Jumbo in sunburst. All original, no breaks. This is the cleanest Southern Jumbo from this era that I have owned and played, period. Nice round, thinner neck profile typical of this era. Frets do not show signs of wear, and have plenty of life. Nice low action, and the bridge is not lifting whatsoever. The color in this original sunburst finish pops a ton in person, and you can tell this example was cared for dearly. Some light pick wear near the neck on the top, as well as minor pick wear that can be seen on the pickguard as well. Action is nice and low. Back shows almost no signs of wear for a guitar of this age. It seems the previous owner at one time added a pickup, hence the plugged hole on the lower bout as pictured. It was a very clean job, and is the only discrepancy on this example. Original tuners work well (one possibly slightly bent?), and hold tune perfectly. This example has a very nice low-mid thump that we’ve come to expect from gibsons, but opens up beautifully when played loud or with a pick. Incredibly dynamic. No loose binding etc. Brand new strings. Just a beautifully kept example that will surely be loved by the its next owner. Comes with non-original brown TourTek hard shell case that fits the guitar nicely. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
